The George Farm Vets Organic Farm Discussion Group met on 21st August. It was a good turnout with both organic and conventional farmers joining in a farm walk at Horton, near Devizes. The pros and cons of once-daily milking were discussed.
The concept of mob grazing proved to be a fascinating topic, with all participating in some lively and interesting discussion. The rearing of calves on a dairy suckler herd was another innovative concept covered. With glorious weather, lunch was served up on the downs and a great day was had by all.
Thank you to all who attended.
