A Fond Farewell

It was an emotional evening as we said a fond farewell to Pete Bown after an amazing 45 years of dedication to veterinary practice. Pete's contribution has been immense since 1968 when he graduated from Glasgow university with Honours to join the practice which then only comprised of 4 vets!

His entire professional career was spent in private practice and, when he retired from the Partnership of The George in 2008, he had overseen the growth the business to 27 vets. He was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine in 2000 and was President of the Pig Veterinary Society in 2009/10.

Pete's evening was full of stories and happy memories and it was clear that he was a little overwhelmed and shell shocked by the whole event. It was great to see so many familiar faces and a good time was had by all.

We wish Pete and Heather every health and happiness in their retirement and from all of us here...
