It's rare for us to advertise veterinary surgeon opportunities on our own web site as we continue to receive many speculative applications stemming from mutual contacts or EMS placements. We're aware that opportunities to work in independently owned practices are in decline. We remain independent for many reasons, and top of the list revolves around clinical freedom and opportunities to progress, develop and influence the practice of which you are part. We also know that speed of decision making and working directly with their employers day to day is valued by many vets. We believe that The George is a great place to thrive in clinical practice through all stages of your career and if you are interested in joining us, please do get in touch with one of our species directors. We're only looking for candidates who care; your cover letter tells us more than you realise about your suitability for a role within our team. With so many candidates competing for the one role (on average 30+), don't forget to sell what makes you the perfect candidate for the advertised role. We try to acknowledge every application within 72 hours of receipt. Not all candidates will be invited for interview and not always are roles offered at first interview. This can result in delays in responses for some candidates who may not have been offered an interview initially, while we consider whether there is a need for further interviews.
