Our Equine Clinic is situated in Garsdon, a peaceful hamlet approximately 2 miles east of Malmesbury. It is ideally
situated to carry out equine work.

  • A large examination room equipped with stocks allowing easy and safe examination of all horses.

  • In-house laboratory for rapid test results to enable prompt diagnosis and treatment of problems.

  • X ray equipment enabling excellent quality radiography to be undertaken with instant results. The findings can then be discussed with the owner immediately to ensure that appropriate action can be taken without delay.

  • Diagnostic ultrasound machine to image soft tissue structures such as tendons, ligaments, and internal organs such as the liver and heart. Ultrasound is also used for mare reproductive work including ovarian and uterine scanning, pregnancy diagnosis and artificial insemination – see below.

  • Shock wave therapy used as a valuable part of the treatment process for a variety of soft tissue injuries such as tendon damage, sacro-iliac strain and back injuries.

  • Endoscopy facilities to enable the visualisation of a horse’s airways from the nostrils to the lungs. The airways can be examined before and after exercise and when necessary, samples can be taken for laboratory investigation.

  • Dental equipment to carry out all routine and performance floating. Teeth extraction and corrective work with power equipment can be carried out as required. We carry out a large amount of equine dental work and take care to ensure maximal comfort to the horse, which is vital for optimum performance.
