Tim Hirst qualified from Edinburgh in 2003, and started work in a mixed practice in Northern Ireland before joining the Rowe Vet Group, and subsequently The George when the two farm practices merged in 2007. He is also a Director at The George.
Tim enjoys all aspects of dairy and beef work and in particular loves large animal surgery. Tim is a holder of the Royal College Certificate in Cattle Health and Production, and is keen to help farmers improve their overall herd health and to run their farms as efficiently as possible. Trips to the US and Holland have helped fuel Tim's enthusiasm for robotic milking and farm automation. He has helped many of our dairy farms during the transition from conventional milking to robotic milking and runs the George's Robotic Milking Discussion Group.
Outside of work Tim has competed nationally and internationally in dinghy racing. He enjoys most country sports, in particular game shooting and he hunts his own horse with the Berkeley and Beaufort packs.
