Lameness examinations

Full diagnostic work ups at the clinic or on your yard are available with nerve blocks, joint blocks and diagnostic imaging as required. In depth communication with you as owner is always maintained. 

Equine Dental Services

25% of horses have dental pain and 80% of horses have dental disease. Quality dental care is about much more than rasping teeth. Acupuncture has been used in Chinese medicine for thousands of years to treat a variety of illnesses. It is now widely recognised and has evolved into Western medicine for treatment of both humans and animals. Acupuncture is a recognised treatment for alleviating pain and improving musculoskeletal recovery in horses. Acupuncture works to provide pain relief via endogenous opioid response as well as relaxation through the autonomic nervous system.

Our horses are used for a variety of demanding disciplines that can lead to musculoskeletal injuries presenting as myofascial trigger points. The use of acupuncture alone or in combination with other therapies can improve the speed and quality of recovery. 

Acupuncture must be performed by a qualified Veterinary Surgeon. Angela and Joanna are both available for treatments and hold a qualification from the Association of British Veterinary Acupuncturists.

Vaccinations and Health Checks

Keeping your horses healthy for longer is our aim. We offer a no cost travel option for your horse's preventative health care.

Pre-Purchase examinations

The start of the journey with your horse. Our experienced team offer a full vetting service with or without x-rays as required and ensure all findings are communicated and discussed clearly with you straight after the examination, as well as providing a written certificate. 

Endoscopy and Gastroscopy

Gastric ulcers can only be diagnosed and monitored by looking inside the horse's stomach with a camera. Likewise problems with other internal areas of your horse, such as the respiratory tract or bladder require endoscopy to ascertain the nature of the problem and allow effective treatment. 

In-Patient Facilities

At our clinic we can care for your horse post surgery or treatment. We can also offer day care for longer procedures saving you waiting time. Equally, we are always happy for owners to stay and be involved in the care of their horse at the clinic. 

Laser Sarcoid Removal

Sarcoids are best treated early and if appropriate, removal by laser surgery is a very effective treatment. We offer regular clinics for such cases. 

Digital Radiography

Our wireless digital radiography system enables us to capture high quality images assisting in accurate and rapid diagnosis. 

Ultrasonography

Soft tissue and bone surface images obtained by ultrasonography are a great tool to help manage and treat lameness, colic, wounds, eye and abdominal diseases and many more areas! 

Shock Wave Therapy

A useful medicine free treatment for a number of sports and soft tissue equine lamenesses

Microchipping and Passports

All horses require both by law. Any queries about your horse's status or if you need either doing, just ask.

We have our own lab on site enabling us to rapidly process samples speeding up diagnosis and thus effective targeted treatment to get your horse back to full health faster. 

Event Veterinary Cover

As enthusiastic riders as well as equine vets we try and support the competition scene by providing veterinary cover for events, including at FEI competitions. 

Client Events

We have a passion for horse health and enjoy sharing it with horse owners. We organise practical demonstrations, talks with our own and visiting speakers all fully catered and usually in support of an equine charity. What's not to like?
