About us

The George Veterinary Hospital is your local practice, independently owned by people who work here and are personally involved in caring for your pets.

Our Mission: Compassionate veterinary care with respect and integrity for our clients and colleagues, whilst maintaining patient welfare at our core.

Appointments

Except for emergencies, pets are seen by pre-arranged appointment only which you can request by calling our team or using the link at the top of the page for available time slots. Booked appointments allow us to minimise your waiting time and also avoids overcrowded, noisy stressful waiting rooms. Rest assured, urgent cases will always be seen as a priority.

Emergencies

We take out of hours emergencies seriously and operate a genuine emergency service 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Veterinary surgeons and a veterinary nurse are on call at all times to deal with urgent cases with your pet's medical records immediately available - not all veterinary practices can offer this assurance! We believe in continuity of care.

With many years' experience within our team, we are well placed to offer excellent advice and care to keep your pets healthy for longer. Our charges reflect the high degree of care we offer at a price that delivers genuine value. To help us, we ask that payment is made at the time of treatment.

Insurance Claims

When wishing to submit an insurance claim, please note that many insurers will now contact us directly after your initial contact with them to provide us with a link to access claim details. This speeds up the process for your claim as many now provide online portals rather than paperwork for this purpose.
