Helping Ukrainian Refugees

We are helping a local vet and friend of the practice Jacob Trojanowski, who has started organising help for two charities in south-east Poland, both of whom he knows well and trust. One is focusing on helping humans, which has to be a priority. They provide food, water, medical help and co-ordinate transport and temporary accommodation in Poland and the EU.

The other is a co-operative with the Polish government and is concentrating on their animals. At each border crossing, there is a veterinary help point. They examine all dogs and cats and vaccinate them against rabies (paid by the government). But as you can imagine they often need much more: they are transported in cardboard boxes, so they need cat carriers, dog collars and leads, also flea and worming treatment, microchipping.

Jacob has committed to be personally responsible for the transport of all items and will take them directly to the two charities in Poland. He is looking to travel to Poland in 10 days.

We want to support Jacob and in turn those who have been displaced by the current situation in Ukraine. If you too would like to help at all, please bring any items on either list attached to the image above to The George Veterinary Hospital (Malmesbury) by Friday the 11th March.

Thank you from Jacob, and from us all at The George.
